They are utilizing their fleet of buses to make a real difference in this crisis by bring food, supplies and joy to those in need. They’ve partnered with local food pantries, community organizations, artists, chefs and local businesses to make it happen.
They have reached out to the community to collect donations towards their efforts. All Donations will go directly to help cover operation costs, including bus operations, gas, insurance, parking, and staffing.

JUNXION CARES : GIVE RISE
Hi my name is Mike Tummolo. I am a community organizer, artist and native New Yorker and one of the people behind Ecstatic Dance NYC , KoMunitas and JunXion.
WHO WE ARE :
We are a collective of artists, makers and dreamers based in Brooklyn, New York. For over 6 years our community has brought people together in celebration. Our buses have transported many on great adventures and excursions. Our events and celebrations have brought amazing moments of joy and fostered many friendships.
Community has always been at the heart of what we do, and now as a community we are rising up to help give back. We are now calling on YOU to help us achieve our goals to support those in need. By contributing to our GoFundMe you will be directly involved in not only helping our organization but those on the front lines. We are calling on you to help us GIVE RISE.
OPERATION ALEGRIA:
The world as we know it has changed. After much reflection on how to best respond to this crisis we have come up with a plan to help.
JunXion will be utilizing our fleet of buses to bring food, supplies and joy to those in need. We are partnering with local food pantries, community organizations, artists, chefs, local businesses and amazing citizens. Our buses will be the engines to mobilize these supplies and YOU the help we need to achieve this.
Two weeks ago we made our first delivery with over 70 meals prepared by Chef Big Love to Brookdale Hospital.
On May 4th we completed another run to Kings County Hospital and Brookdale.
We have now been contacted by many organizations to team up and help. This is now a truly evolving story of New Yorkers coming together in a time of need. The feedback and the amount of folx reaching out is both moving and inspiring. I am deeply moved by this and humbly now asking for your help.
We are all in this together. This is the true essence of KoMunitas.
Spreading Joy:
In addition to bringing much needed supplies to those in need we will be using our buses to spread joy to New Yorkers. Keep an eye out for a pop up serenade scattered around this great city.
We hope to bring a glimmer of hope during these uncertain times and a smile to your face.
SAFETY:
We will have signage on our buses and make announcements over our loud speaker and all of our staff will be wearing masks and protective gear and practice all social distancing guidelines.
When delivering supplies we are limiting our interaction as much as possible and maintaining distance and taking all precautions. The safety of our team and those around us are very important.
YOUR DONATIONS:
Your donations will go directly to help cover operation costs, including bus operations, gas, insurance, our parking lot, and staffing. We want to continue to serve and at this time of uncertainty, your donations will ensure our continued collective presence in the community.
We are working directly with our collaborators in creating a detailed outline for the Month of May and beyond.
All of the meals and supplies we are helping to transport are going directly to urgent care workers at hospitals and families and communities in need.
DOCUMENTATION:
We will be documenting our entire journey and telling this story as it unfolds. We want you to be directly involved in this moment.
Check all of our social media for updates on our routes, highlights from our team and collaborators, daily recaps and livestreams and inspiring stories from the front lines.
SECONDARY FUNDRAISING GOALS:
We are also looking to support local restaurants and businesses. Once we reach our first round of fundraising we will then begin to use funds to directly purchase meals from local restaurants & COVID supplies from local artists.
CURRENT COLLABORATIONS:

At the heart of the JunXion is Alegria, a joy that is sorely needed in this time of crisis. With our fleet of colorful buses and one of a kind of events, along with our space X Marks the Loft we have been spreading joy, music and fostering community.
Through the years we have featured an array of world class artists at our legendary gatherings, and are working to bring the same caliber of art to you in the digital sphere. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram for how to Give Rise to the New Dawn.
The next chapter of this play has arrived and you are at the center.
